Primary 6
Hi everyone! This term is a very exciting one in P6!
This term we will be jumping into our Rainforest Topic. Learning all about the rainforest, the people and animals that live there, how important it is in our fight against global warming, as well as the foods and medicines it provides. If we are lucky we might even get to meet some of the animals that inhabit the rainforest and even try some of the exotic and not so exotic foods from it.
Our writing focus in Literacy will be persuasive writing, as we write to the Brazilian government to convince them to do more to stop deforestation of the Amazon, were in Numeracy we will look and compare rainfall in the Amazon and Northern Ireland using different graphs. Surely the Amazon couldn't have more rain than our wee country! Could it?
We have lots of exciting trips and workshops to look forward to, including our second Shared Education trip with Sacred Heart. Swimming is beginning again this term for P6, and we can't wait to get back in the water! Keep an eye on the facebook page for weekly updates on all our exciting lessons.
